Purple and all its myriad shades have definitely been a trend of this season! From lavender to violet to lilac to the newest addition - very peri, the colour purple is all things glam. Our Bollywood divas have also managed to incorporate this colour into their traditional wear. Purple combines the calm stability of blue and the fierce energy of red. The colour is often associated with royalty, nobility, luxury and power, and that’s just how our divas are looking every time they don this colour.
ALIA BHATT
Alia wore a metallic Manish Malhotra lehenga that was embellished with various crafts in various shades of purple. The lehenga was embellished with intricate chikankari work and holographic sequins that resembled architectural and geometric patterns. Instead of a traditional blouse, the voluminous skirt was paired with a risqué corset-style top. She omitted the jewels, allowing her outfit to take centre stage.
Alia looked stunning in a purple bandhani lehenga by ace designer Sabyasachi. The lehenga set included a plunging neckline half-sleeve blouse with polka dot print, an inverted sweetheart hemline, gold embroidery on sleeves, and a backless detail tied with a dori. She paired the blouse with a matching skirt that was embellished with a gold Sabyasachi tiger logo on the waistline, polka dot print, and gold patti on the border. The actor's look was completed by a matching printed dupatta with patti embroidery. She finished off the look with pink and gold jhumkas and a matching bindi.
JANHVI KAPOOR
Janhvi ditched the subtle route for Priyanka Chopra and Nick Jonas' wedding reception party in favour of the ultra-glam route. She looked stunning in a purple, heavily embellished Manish Malhitra lehenga. The ensemble included a billowy lehenga covered in iridescent sequins and paired with a matching blouse that was also embellished with crystal and bead work. She omitted the dupatta and kept her accessories to a minimum, opting for delicate diamond earrings.
KANGANA RANAUT
Kangana wore a JJ Valaya lehenga set to Ankita Lokhande and Vicky Jain's sangeet. She looked stunning in a deep V-neckline blouse with floral embroidery and exquisitely placed sequins. This sleeveless number was paired with a lehenga skirt that featured a plethora of embroidery in a variety of colours. It was dressed up with a net dupatta and a shimmery waistband. Kangana completed her look with an opulent necklace, maang tikka, earrings, kadas, and a headband adorned with colourful beads, glossy pearls, and gemstones.
KIARA ADVANI
Kiara Advani dazzled in a high-shine wine-colored lehenga. The lehenga was made up of an open-back blouse, a full skirt, and a matching dupatta. It was embellished with metal embroidery with geometric motifs. While the silver embellishment and monotone sequin work added to the garment's glamorous appeal, the wine colour muted it for an overall balanced appearance. Instead of wearing earrings, the actress emphasised her décolletage with two layered necklaces studded with uncut diamonds. She completed her ensemble with two diamond bracelets and a cocktail ring. Her burgundy outfit was complemented by her maroon potli bag.
SHRADDHA KAPOOR
Shraddha Kapoor proved that the millennial-approved lavender shade can be worn for special occasions. She was dressed in a lavender set by Krésha Bajaj. The romantic ensemble included a sheer neckline blouse, a ballgown-esque skirt, and a matching dupatta, all embellished with intricate glass bead work in floral motifs and sprinkled with crystals. She wore diamond and pearl earrings, an ornate maang tikka, and kadas. She chose not to wear a heavy neckpiece because her blouse had a sheer high neckline.
