We all know Aamir Khan is a perfectionist, and he has always been that way. Although his perfectionism is something that everyone admires, it can irritate people at times, as was the case with the late Amrish Puri on the set of the 1985 film Zabardast. At the time, Aamir was not a famous name; he was only supporting his uncle Nasir Hussain and was put in charge of action continuity, and the Dhoom 3 actor was a perfectionist even in that job.
Sanjeev Kumar, Sunny Deol, Jaya Prada, and Amrish Puri were among the cast members of Zabardast. Aamir Khan's connection with Nasir Hussain was only known to a handful of them, and Amrish was not one of them. According to reports, Aamir was asked to check details and ensure that all of the shots were continuous and that the action moments were not choppy. Later, the PK actor went to Amrish Puri and described the hand positioning for his sequence, after which he began filming. Puri would become so involved in the scene that he would forget the hand position. Aamir, on the other hand, was particular, reshooting the scene over and over again, not letting the hand positioning go. Amrish Puri was irritated by this. The late actor became enraged and roared.
Later, when Nasir Hussain went to Amrish Puri and told him that Aamir Khan was just following instructions given to him, the late actor felt guilty. He apparently went to apologise to Mr Perfectionist and clear the air.
