- Using The Disk Management Tool
This information is available in the Disk Management tool that comes with Windows. To get there, right-click the Start button and select "Disk Management." In the Disk Management pane, locate the disk you want to examine. Select "Properties" from the context menu when you right-click it. Navigate to the "Volumes" tab. Depending on the disk, you'll notice either "Master Boot Record (MBR)" or "GUID Partition Table (GPT)" to the right of "Partition style."
- Using The Command prompt
You can also use the regular diskpart command in a Command Prompt window to check. To begin, open a Command Prompt window as Administrator by right-clicking the Start button or pressing Windows Key+X and choosing "Command Prompt (Admin)." You may simply right-click the Command Prompt shortcut in the Start menu and choose "Run as Administrator."
Enter the following two commands one after the other:
- diskpart
- list disk
